Mediated Dialogue

We are looking at the relations and differences between two-party dialogue and mediated dialogue involving a third party, who facilitates the communication between the other two in some way. This includes live translation/interpretation, where each of the main parties speaks a different language, facilitated dialogue in which, even in the same language, a mediator may bridge a gap between initiative and response, or add to or change a speaker's utterance in some way.
